I am really sorry to hear that. I can understand how it feels as I have faced many rejections myself too. The best thing that you can do is sit down with your supervisor, and ask him to make specific comments on your document. The examiners give their comments on a broad perspective, so I think you should only revise after having the complete idea of where you are wrong. And don’t be so worried, it’ll be okay. A dissertation is a big achievement. It ain’t supposed to be easy.

Choosing a method depends upon what kind of a question you are asking. All these concepts are applied on different types of research. For understanding them, you have to read a lot of books. The most famous book on research methods is by Creswell, “Qualitative inquiry and research design: Choosing among five traditions”. You can refer this.

Yes your guide is right, a conceptual framework shows that how the studies in LR would address the research questions and objectives of your thesis? If you would present a conceptual framework then the diagram will easily represent how the variables will interact with each other and how they are related. You should first jot down the variables on a paper. Identify which ones are independent, dependent and control/moderating ones. Try to make a self-explanatory network which demonstrates their interaction.
