Is proposal a Mini-Dissertation?

The proposal is a map of the small world that your dissertation represents. Your proposal is a way to suggest and convey the idea as to what your world would look like and not creating your world.  It is the mapping of your proposed world that you intend to build in the subsequent stages.

Proposal is not a mini-dissertation. This is a common mistake that most of you make while you lay your hands on proposal development.  With this misunderstanding, the ideal time for preparing a proposal extends making the project time consuming and costly.

A provisional document that describes the idea of transition with a blueprint of the action plan is titled as a proposal. It is not an essay or a brief document that can be inflated to create a dissertation. It describes your project in the following terms:

• It lists your research ideas and objectives
• Outlines the chapter giving extended overview of the argument
• Gives insights to the related literature
• States the methodology for research
• Lists the formulated hypothesis
• Proposes the desired results for the study
